Terms and conditions - Students / clients

General

The Students / Clients are requested to provide and carry their Learner Permit / Overseas Licence (Original) while learning to drive.

The student must produce the appropriate Learner permit or other licenses before the commencement of every driving lesson and must always be in the student’s possession during the learning/teaching process.

The students/clients should provide their full address, contact mobile number and their email id for records purpose to the booking office or Instructors.

The lesson time starts once the student/client sits inside the car, or after 5 minutes from the time of arrival of our instructor.

It is students responsibility to advise the school or the instructor in case he/she is having any (prescribed or not) medication that might affect the driving. All mobile phones should be turned off during the driving lesson or should be in silent mode.

Students must advise as early as possible if there is anything, which may impair their ability to learn in order that steps may be taken to overcome them. This could include difficulties in reading/writing or understanding English, colour blindness, sight or hearing impairment.

Skills will be assessed in a variety of ways, depending on the experience level and depth of learning. They are explained by the instructor and will be valid, reliable, fair and flexible. Assessments will be done through observation, question, and answer and through assignments which will be helpful for identifying areas of strength and areas of improvement.

Students will be assessed by also making them nervous in order to make them confident in their driving skills and attempt the driving test successfully.

Payments

The Driving School / Instructor accepts payments by cash, cheque, bank transfer, Credit/Debit Card or Gift Vouchers from Darshan Driving School. Payments should be made prior to the commencement of the driving lesson or driving test.

It is student’s responsibility to keep ready the exact money if paid by cash and it should be paid before the lesson starts and its applicable only for same day bookings. For future bookings, payment should be made within 24 from the booking time or the booking will be cancelled by the software automatically.

It is students responsibility to provide the required documents to the VicRoads before the test, if the test is not conducted for any reason due to student’s mistake or other reason, the driving instructors driving test charges are not refundable. If the student has not paid the amount he has to pay the driving instructor charges in full.

While our instructor coming for the driving test and if the delay happens for any reason the instructor will wait for additional one hour. If more than that the delay happens then the student should pay the instructor on an hourly basis for the wait time. The hourly basis is charged as per the driving lesson charges.

RESCHEDULE / CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICY

The lessons should be booked in advance through booking office, Call Center, Online or with Instructor respectively.

The Driving School / Instructor reserves the rights to reschedule or cancel the driving lessons due to any reason. Anyway, the student will be informed at least 30 minutes prior to the lesson. Darshan Driving School / Instructor can also refuse to accept bookings or further appointments from students demonstrating anti-social behaviour before or during the lesson. Should in the opinion of the instructor, the learner displays signs that are likely to be a hindrance and/or danger, the instructor reserves the right to terminate the session immediately. Some of the signs may include drowsiness, the state of agitation, signs of intoxication or substance usage, diminished alertness, aggressiveness, annoying or using abusive language, lack of judgement, loss of coordination. Should termination of the session be necessary, any fees paid will be lost.

If the Student decides to cancel / reschedule the driving lesson / test following terms apply:

Rescheduling:

Incase of unavoidable circumstances, if a student decides to reschedule the driving lesson /test the same can be done free of charges before 48 hours, incase the reschedule is done or requested within 48 hours of appointment time following charges apply.

Cancellation:

If the Student decides to cancel the driving lesson discounts applied, if any at the time of booking would be cancelled, and booking value would be considered as original value without discount.

Single lesson / Drive tests:

The Student should inform the booking office or Call Center in order to cancel or reschedule a lesson. The student can do the same from our mobile app too.

Cancellation charges if cancelled by customer based on time of cancellation from appointment time:

Package:

Cancellation post booking will incur a cancellation fee of 20% of bill value at the time of booking.

If any lesson/s were availed before the cancellation, the lesson/s availed will be considered at the value of single lesson booking/s, and same would also be deducted from the bill value along with the cancellation fee.

Incase any lessons are scheduled for a future time at the time of cancellation, below additional charges apply considering it to be of single lesson and cancellation charge will be considered at the value of single lesson booking.

Refund:

Normally when amount is paid towards driving lessons / test / any services, the amount is credited as credits into the wallet which is equal to the amount of driving lessons or our respective service charges. So the refund amount will be credited back to the wallet for further usage, which can be done within 36 months of the purchase date or can request for a Gift Voucher. Which can be given to friends or relatives for usage.
