Darshan Driving School Pty Ltd (DDS)
ABN: 13 649 118 472
Effective date: 16 October 2026
This policy applies to bookings supplied by DDS through its websites, booking office, mobile app or instructors. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions. Personal information is handled under our Privacy Policy.
NDIS- and TAC-funded services are subject to the applicable service agreement and funding rules. The standard charges and gift-voucher arrangements below must not be applied to those funds unless permitted by those arrangements.
The following rules apply to ordinary driving lessons and the DDS service component of driving-test bookings. VicRoads fees are separate.
| Notice before the scheduled start | Cancellation or rescheduling charge | Prepaid package time deducted |
|---|---|---|
| More than 24 hours | No charge | None |
| From 4 hours up to and including 24 hours | 50% of the booked service value | 50% of the booked time |
| Less than 4 hours, or failure to attend | 100% of the booked service value | All of the booked time |
Exactly 24 hours and exactly 4 hours fall within the 50% category. Notice is measured using Melbourne local time, from when your request is received through a published contact channel to the scheduled start. Later processing does not change that timestamp.
Charges use the amount actually paid for the relevant booking, including any discount. For package bookings, the corresponding percentage of time is deducted instead of charging money again.
If a booking is completely unpaid and no package time or voucher value has been allocated, it is cancelled without a cancellation invoice or further payment demand. A cancellation charge on a part-paid booking cannot exceed the amount already paid or allocated to that booking. These limits apply to the DDS service component of test bookings as well as lessons.
DDS does not provide monetary refunds for change of mind or voluntary cancellation, except where required by law.
After any applicable charge:
An account balance may temporarily record value awaiting allocation or voucher issue. It is not a bank account or a promise of a monetary refund. DDS will provide a record of the calculation and any voucher issued.
Ending a package is different from changing one scheduled lesson. For a voluntary whole-package cancellation, DDS calculates the eligible balance from the amount paid, less:
DDS will not recover the same loss twice. Repricing and charges will be reduced where necessary to avoid excessive deductions. Total deductions cannot exceed the amount paid, and voluntary cancellation creates no additional debt. Any eligible balance is issued as a DDS Gift Voucher.
These deductions do not apply to restrict a refund or other remedy required by law. DDS will provide an itemised calculation on request.
DDS Gift Vouchers issued under this policy are valid for 36 months from the date of issue. Purchased DDS Gift Vouchers also carry a 36-month validity period from issue. The issue date, expiry date, value and any service restrictions will be shown on the voucher. Replacing a lost voucher does not restart its expiry.
Vouchers may be used across multiple eligible DDS bookings until their value is exhausted. Any price difference is payable when booking. They may be given to a friend or relative, subject to the recipient meeting the service’s eligibility requirements. They are not reloadable, cannot be resold without DDS approval and are not redeemable for money except where required by law. No activation, account-keeping or inactivity fee applies.
No cancellation charge applies. We restore the full payment value or package time and offer rescheduling. For a standalone booking, you may instead choose a DDS Gift Voucher.
If DDS cannot provide the booked service and you are entitled to a monetary refund or another remedy under law, that remedy will be provided. You will not be required to accept a voucher or rescheduling instead. We will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable.
Contact us if illness, an accident, unsafe conditions, vehicle breakdown, a VicRoads cancellation or another exceptional event affects your booking. We will review the circumstances and may waive or reduce charges or restore time or value. A voluntary concession normally takes the form of rescheduling, package time or a gift voucher; statutory remedies remain available.
If the cancelled time is filled by another booking, or DDS otherwise avoids part of the loss, charges will be reviewed and reduced to avoid recovery beyond our reasonable loss. Provide only information reasonably needed for the review; sensitive information is handled under our Privacy Policy.
You must meet VicRoads eligibility and document requirements. If a test cannot proceed because you are absent, lack required documents or do not meet eligibility requirements, DDS applies sections 2 and 7 to the undelivered DDS booking. Services already delivered remain payable. The same component will not be charged both as delivered and as cancelled.
VicRoads booking, cancellation and refund rules govern fees paid to VicRoads. A VicRoads cancellation does not automatically justify retaining the full DDS fee; we review the circumstances and applicable legal rights.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law. Where the law requires a monetary refund, DDS will provide it without requiring acceptance of credit or a gift voucher. A statutory entitlement is not dependent on discretionary DDS approval.
Cancel or reschedule through the DDS mobile app, by calling 0431 336 996, or by emailing darshandrivingschool@gmail.com. Include your name, booking reference and scheduled date and time. If an app request fails, use phone or email and retain your request record.
Updated cancellation terms apply to purchases made from their effective date. They do not retrospectively remove rights under existing purchases or applicable law.
